WheelieBuddy brings over 12 years of wheel building knowledge to offer wheelchair athletes a better and more convenient service. Not only offering wheel spoke replacement & truing, but in offering services such as hub maintenance, push rim repairs, castor & toe-in adjustments for sports wheelchairs. All manual wheelchair and wheel combinations are catered for; from conventional steel spoke technology to composite spokes and full carbon fibre wheels. WheelieBuddy offers workshop facilities, onsite support and pickup/delivery available.
The aim of WheelieBuddy is to provide a holistic, precision service that is rare and often inaccessible to some, something that WheelieBuddy believes should be enjoyed by all wheelchair users, with a highly motivated and professional mobile service that seeks to deliver precision repairs and tuning, allowing chair athletes to focus on playing and not repairing as well as increasing the life expectancy of their equipment.
WheelieBuddy is a proud supporter of the Wollongong Roller Hawks Basketball Team (NWBL), provides on-going mechanical & technical support to and is working closely with the team to develop new products and techniques to improve wheelchair reliability and performance.
Items such as stronger push rims and hubs, that can better withstand the great stresses and forces placed upon them by the rigorous demands of high impact wheelchair activities, are in the process of being developed and being comprehensively field tested.
